What is Student Council?
•    officers and representatives elected from and by the student body to represent the student body as a whole
•    helps share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school administrators
•    help raise funds for school-wide activities, community projects, food drives, etc.
•    members serve as an example for other members of the student body
•    members are required to be in good standing in their classes and they must strive to avoid behavioral issues during and after school
•    members are expected to be helpful, courteous, and positive during school hours

Requirements to be in Student Council
•    Maintain a 2.5 GPA
•    Maintain an “A” Average in Conduct
•    Attend Meetings (only 2 unexcused absences)
•    Teacher Recommendation
 

Student Council Offices:
•    President: Open to 7th Graders only
•    Leader of the student body
•    Presiding officer for Student Council Meetings
•    Represents students’ interests on campus
•    Votes when there is a tie
•    Conducts him/herself with academic integrity and exemplary conduct
•    Vice President: Open to 6th and 7th Graders only
•    Stands in for the President when that person is unavailable or resigns
•    Must be knowledgeable about all Student Council business
•    Conducts him/herself with academic integrity and exemplary conduct
•    Secretary: Open to 5th, 6th and 7th Graders
•    Primary record keeper for the council
•    Maintains minutes of the meetings
•    Keeps track of council membership and attendance
•    Alerts members of upcoming meetings
•    Conducts him/herself with academic integrity and exemplary conduct
•    Treasurer: Open to 5th, 6th, and 7th Graders
•    Act as custodian for the Student Council funds
•    Receives and distributes money, keeps records of all income and expenses
•    Deposits money into the council’s bank account
•    Reports at each meeting on money matters
•    Conducts him/herself with academic integrity and exemplary conduct
•    Class Reps: Open to 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Graders
•    Two students from each grade will be elected
•    Attend Student Council meetings and report back to classrooms
•    Must be knowledgeable about all Student Council business
•    Acts as a liaison between the class they represent and the Student Council
•    Conducts him/herself with academic integrity and exemplary conduct
