Hillary Smith is originally from Lucedale, Mississippi. She received her Bachelor in Music with an emphasis in music education from the University of Mississippi in 2016 and a Masters in Music with an emphasis in vocal performance from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2018. She began her teaching career at Bass Memorial Academy in Purvis, Mississippi as a voice instructor in 2017 and also maintains an active private voice studio. In addition to teaching, Hillary continues to perform and will be singing with the New Orleans Opera this upcoming season. Hillary’s most recent opera and musical theatre roles and performances include Jackie Benson in Bruce Earnest’s adaptation of Mozart’s Der Schauspieldirektor, the Mississippi premiere of Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot, Madame Firmin in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Phantom of the Opera, and the Countess in Giuseppe Verdi’s Rigoletto. Hillary is very excited to join the Kehoe-France staff and is looking forward teaching the next generation of musicians and music lovers.
